I’m sorry, why does this book casually mention that actual Minotaurs exist, only for them to literally never be mentioned again in any of the books set in this world? Was T Kingfisher just feeling extra whimsical the day she wrote this one sentence?

I don't want Slate and Caliban to fall in love because I don't care about Caliban. I also don't want Slate and Brenner to fall in love, because I want whatever weird toxic thing they have going on to get worse. I want them to hook up and betray each other and regret both.
