it's nice when there are little rest-stops in books. For example, some authors make a lighter shift to break the narrative tension, while Rainbow Rowell wrote Agatha pov's to let people know when you could skip an entire chapter

I still have that gut reaction of "who gives a shit" whenever they try to flesh out The Mage's character

Honestly there's no real reason this series is a trilogy. I mean, it's not like the three cover a narrative arc other than Simon and Baz's relationship. Here's hoping for a book four somewhere down the line.
