Since you have zero interest in the book, there's no reason to hold back on spoilers hahahahahaha
The story is about two mafia families whose fathers were very close ,one died from illness and the other was killed, and before their deaths they arranged for their eldest sons, Logan and Killian, to marry when they turn 27. The story mainly follows their relationship and all the drama surrounding that arrangement.
What completely destroyed me,though, had nothing to do with Logan and Killian 💔💔
At the very beginning we were led to believe that Logan's mother died for an unknown reason.Later we find out she's actually alive and the truth behind what happened is much darker. She had tried to kill two of her sons and Logan nearly died trying to protect his brother.
When Logan went to visit her at the facility( his dad sent her there after the accident)she revealed why she snapped all those years ago: she believed her husband was having an affair with Killian's father and unfortunately It fits.
Logan and Killian were flabbergasted ..Suddenly so many things from the past seemed to make sense. Logan adored his father but after hearing this he started questioning everything he thought he knew about him. As much as he didn't want to believe it he couldn't completely ignore the possibility.Then the book hits you with its final punch.Neaaaaaar the end Logan finds a letter his father wrote to Killian's father before he died... In that letter he admits that he always knew his feelings for him were more than friendship , that he loved him too,that he knew there was something between them but he also makes one thing painfully clear:They never had an affair ... Means his father never cheated on his mother.The tragedy wasn't that they were together in secret.The tragedy was that they never got to be together at AT ALLLLLL.He spent his entire life loving a man he could never have and the letter is basically his goodbye. He writes about knowing that nothing could ever happen between them because of the lives they had,the responsibilities they carried and that damn arrangement between themmm and since he's dying all he has left is the hope that maybe in another life things could have been different.
That reveal absolutely broke me 💔💔💔💔💔💔💔
