I'm shocked to say that this is once again one of those occasions, where I prefer the tv adaptation to the book. I know it's cheesy and all but I loved the movie. It makes us feel warm and fuzzy inside thinking about how we would have loved to live that experience in high school. But the book is sooo different. I don't hate it, but not the biggest fan, up until now at least.
