What I find most trying is looking forward to sharing the housework and childcare at the weekend, but ending up having to do it all myself.

For the time being, I plan to simply get my life in order and learn some new skills, choosing from what’s available. I’ll prepare myself, like Guri and Gura gathering chestnuts in the forest. Because I never know when I might find my own giant egg.

It dawns on me that I have not been looking after myself. I don’t care about what I put in my mouth or my surroundings, and I treat myself carelessly. Like Kiriyama, but for different reasons, I too have not been living a decent life.

The website recipe requires a frying pan, mixing bowl and whisk, along with three eggs, 60g flour, 60g sugar, 20g butter, melted, and 30ml milk. An 18cm-diameter frying pan seems best, with a lid.
