Look I’m saying I finished this version of Anne of green gables too only because on my Goodreads goal it fucked up and discounted my reading of the second book of Ann and din.

Oh poor Gilbert Blythe how he so loves and respects Anne yet she pretends he doesn’t even exist. The many things he does to try and show that he cares for her and she just stomps on it with no care whatsoever. The fact this long lasting grudge started just because he called her carrot hair. I hope one day she can forgive him but then again it’s absolutely hilarious so I’m okay if it takes a couple of years.

In the back of the book there is a note on every single piece of memento and letter they created for this book. I am amazed by the amount of detail put into each memento and actually learnt a lot of history behind some of the items.
There were ‘flirtation’ cards that were bought and given to bend the rules of social interaction, so basically pick up lines but on cards 😂. There were some pretty cheeky ones.

Never fuck with Anne, the slightest wrongs towards her will lead to the most passionate hatred.
Good luck Gilbert Blythe you are going to fucking need it, maybe one day she’ll forgive you.

The things that come out of Anne’s mouth… this girl is definitely a little sick in the head.

Marilla is a tsundere.

Anne: I’m the most ugly girl in the whole wide world.
Mrs. Rachel: True
Anne: Now listen here bitch, I will fuck you up!

Seriously though this book has so far been a delight, I’m shocked by how often it makes me laugh. The writing is so deliciously romantic that I’ve decided that I have to start writing down my favourite lines.

Anne is the biggest ginger hater I know.

I’m so sorry I keep making so many updates but honestly I just like seeing the percentage go up and I love talking about the books I’m reading.

Mr.Cuthbert: can we keep her? 🥺
Marilla: No
Mr.Cuthbert: you’re right we shouldn’t… but like what if we did?
Marilla: No

I’ve never read a character that has such a zeal for life quite like Anne and I’ve just met her, I think I’m going to quite like her.

The edition I got of this book has hand written letters and mementos of the characters in the book. I really wish I could send a photo with this update because the map it came with is absolutely gorgeous!
