A coworker of mine gave it to me to read after I had mentioned that I wish I had read it as a kid so now I feel like I owe them to read it now. The one thing about reading youth books is that they are quite often kinda silly and whimsical so it’s been a bit of a joy to read it after the last book.

Dame this book has taken me on a whirlwind of a ride I was not expecting there to be a three year time skip where I learn that Patricia has had to trim herself down to only the parts that make her a good housewife. Also what does James the vampire gain by wanting Carter out and getting with Patricia? He already has her kids in the palm of his hand why try and get with her?

Fuck I’m literally crying I feel so bad for Patricia she’s just trying to save her kids and now everyone thinks she’s a whack job especially her husband. I hate Carter with a passion he thinks shes so selfish when all he thinks about is work and getting a promotion he’s practically turned the kids on her and it’s so frustrating and sad to see. Shes trapped and nothing she does will ever be good enough.

This chapter is so hard to read I’m only part way done because I’m so fucking mad at the husbands in this book. How dare they treat their wives like children! They have real concerns! They ignore everything they say like fuck you Carter your wife has done everything for you! She cooks she cleans she never fights with you she listens and try’s to be supportive and you treat her like she’s a little imbecile.

Never mind fuck you Carter!!! Omg what a fucking asshole in what world would you even think that was okay????!!!!! Ahhhhhhhhhh! OMG Patty needs to smack him with the divorce papers right this instant.

Carter finally had his first win cause so far he’s been a crap husband until now. He literally told the police that whatever his wife said must be true and she wouldn’t lie like he actually stood up for her and comforted her.

James Harris is a dirty racist vampire and I just know he’s going to blame Ursula for something. Can’t wait for Patricia to put it together so that she can stop him.

Omg Patricia’s ear just got bitten off by a crazed old lady and Patricia’s all worried that her earring she got from her husband on her birthday is gone (it’s the only real good gift he’s given her)but guess fucking what it was costume jewelry that he got free from one of his patients! Carter I swear to god I would kill you right now!!! You piece of shit you are a doctor!!! You make money!!!

Technically my volume 1 of warm bodies is a special edition with the prequel and I could have chosen that edition on Goodreads but Goodreads would not have counted it as two book so yeah.
Also will try to do a proper review for warm bodies cause I absolutely loved it, Just need time to write one properly.

Perry could have so easily just been the dead boyfriend but this book really makes him a fully realized character, like I actually care about Perry and feel sad that he died. I also like that it somehow makes it feel like R and Perry are friends even though R ate his brains.

Look I know I only write about the weird shit that happens in this book but honestly it does have some really deep moments that get to me. R is such a romantic and sweet zombie that’s stuck in a body that won’t fully let him express himself yet somehow still finds ways to connect with Julie and it’s really sweet.
Can’t believe the boneys literally just nicklebacked R with that “look at this photograph.”

Well I guess the whole married issue is now a non issue because R just caught his wife having “sex” with another zombie. I will say zombie “sex” is honestly kinda gross but mostly just depressing like I get why R literally has 0 interest in having it considering you literally cannot feel anything. The car scene in the book is so much more funnier in the book than in the movie.

When your friend won’t share his extra brains with you so you lock yourself in a bathroom stall to pout 😔.
Also confirmed R definitely a dead beat dad and he’s only been a father for like 2 days.

I’m sorry are you telling me that R got a zombie girlfriend that took him to zombie church then got zombie married then a day later zombie adopted two zombie children?
Well I understand why the movie decided not to keep that part of the story but I am very curious to see where this zombie family plot is going. Is he going to have an affair with Julie? Is his wife going to die? Is R going to be a dead beat dad?

Holy shit things got a lot more intense. Also Ana cares about Din 🥹 that’s her little helper.

The plot thickens! Hoping I can learn more about Din he’s got so much mystery surrounding him.

The mystery is intriguing and honestly I’m really curious about the world it’s such a fascinating place.

The world vaguely reminds me of attack on titan though I think this book will do a better job of the concept.

Ana is such a bitch and I love her for it, she also makes a great comedy duo with Din. Also calling it Din is gay.

Okay so I was going to read ace of spades but I got new books and new books are more enticing, at least more enticing then books that have been on your shelf for years and never get around to.

It’s nice that the story is about an interracial couple in the 1920s when it was illegal for them to be wed because it really gives them an actual problem that they have to navigate. I feel like many romance stories tend to have stupid and contrived problems but luckily this is not the case for this one. The fact that old lesbian couple living together gives them hope that they can somehow be together is so sweet.

Look I know this is the third book in the series but they are kinda standalone and this one had a boat in it so honestly I couldn’t help myself. I rarely ever read smut books but this was set in a supernatural 1920s and it had boats which are two of my weaknesses. So far honestly it’s not the worst the story is super basic and still has some fun moments my biggest complaint is that the boat is barely there );.

Every scene with Raksh is a delight! He’s definitely my fave with Amina being a close second. Also every scene with Raksh and Amina is the best they are so funny together.

I really hope just want Amina to tell Raksh they have a child together like I gotta know how he’ll react.

What a fun ride so far honestly really love the supernatural bits in the story and I know Amina hates the supernatural but I cannot wait for her to encounter more.

I changed my mind it’s got to be Amina’s ex husband that’s back and giving information to the frank. Also special note to my friend Matt but I feel like he’s going to be your fav character if he’s in fact not dead.

We’re getting the whole crew back together! Also I have a theory on who leaked information.
