This book feels like a funhouse mirror view of my life/the life of friends and family who've gone through this immigrant experience. Sometimes an exact reflection, sometimes slightly warped from my own experience, and sometimes like it's written for a white-audience.

If you want a full on, "this is a compilation of every Indian immigrant's experience over the course of the last 4 decades" (I can't speak for other cultures and ethnicities, of course), then this is the one book to read. Also an okay book to help sway some of the Indian aunties who sit on the fence into a more progressive mindset, maybe?
But for me ... yeah, it was a weird reading experience.
