if i was a crier, i’d be sobbing right about now.
This is sooooo deep that every single sentence said by Giovanni is just another knife in my organs. Also this is probably my least favorite main character ever, even worse than Holden Caulfield and whatever Sylvia Plath said her name was in The Bell Jar.

“Perhaps, as we say in America, I wanted to find myself. This is an interesting phrase, not current as far as I know in the language of any other people, which certainly does not mean what it says but betrays a nagging suspicion that something has been misplaced.” I’ve reread this and the page before it like 10 times already.
