I have so many problems with this scene. But it did leave me with my mouth watering so I guess mission accomplished by the author.

I feel every interaction between the main characters is so forced. This dark romance is too flirty and tries too hard to be funny.

Are we supposed to like Zevander? Right now I don’t and I feel like by the end of the book that I will not change my mind on him. It’s how he is written. I feel like the author wants us to see that whatever connection that is between them is so strong that a man which a tragic history can find love… all I am reading is someone who also has sexual trauma sure wants to explore sex from some side boob.

So far I am more interested in Maevyth’s chapters. I find her to be a more believable tragedy in this fantasy world.

I did find Zevander’s story interesting but there is a tipping point of where it feels like the author is trying too hard to make his story even more tragic than the audience was already seeing.
