Book 1: so far I feel like Julie(?) is a POS lawyer. She’s supposed to be working on behalf of children, but she sounds way too skeptical of their accusations for my comfort level. “Occasionally, kids will make false allegations of abuse against a parent in the hopes that they get placed with a too-lenient relative.” Maybe. But the alternative is that they’re abused and/or RAPED. Believe kids!
