Roy and Irmgard told Pris that they were the only three left. And Roy planned to stay in this abandoned building to hide from the bounty hunters. Roy suggested that Pris move into Isdore's apartment to stay with Isdore. He and Irmgard would stay in her apartment. He also would install a two-way bug so they could hear what was going on on the other side. and an alarm system.

Rick phoned a patrol car in, and the uniforms took Luba Luft's body for a bone marrow test. They headed back to Resch's car on the roof of the opera house. Rick administered a Vioght-Kampff test on Resch. Resch was tense and nervous in his bucket seat. But the result showed that he was human. He relived as his body loosened. Rick noticed he was becoming empathetic towards some androids.

Rick and Resch found Miss Luft in the Munch exhibit. They prodded her into an elevator, heading to Resch's car. But inside, Miss Luft needled Resch as he was an android with no empathy. Resch was winded up; he groped for his laser beam. Rick tried prying it off from Resch, but to no avail. To avoid further complications. He fired his own laser to retire Miss Luft in the lift.

They walked down the sidewalk to the museum. In the Munch exhibit, Phil asked Rick if he knew any android would care for a pet. Rick honestly replied that only two andys he knew did that.

He and Rick proceeded to formulate a plan to escape.

Phil Resch, another bounty hunter, wearing a fuzzy Van-dyke beard, entered the office. Inspector Garland showed him Rick's sheet, telling Phil that he, Polokov and Miss Luft were on the kill list. Surprisingly, Phil enviced that he always suspected Polokov and Miss Luft were androids, maybe even Garland. The bone marrow test arrived, and it revealed that Polokov was one.
