I like Kingfisher's writing, I like the world but the whole "two hot people are attracted to each other but being dummies about that" is very tiresome when one tries to get into romance lit.

Pro: One of two protagonists who'll fall in love is cool lady spy.
Con: She's falling in love not with the cool lady paladin (WHO'S RIGHT THERE) but with depressed male one.
(I'm mostly joking, series is about finding love and healing but now I really need the future book about this lady paladin doing those things. And there's briefly mentioned second one who is ✨ mysterious ✨).

This is the absolute worst series to get into romance literature. When you know her other works (which sometimes have romance in too) it's just straight up atrocious. Coming from someone who loves romance.
