Incorrect. Drought increases the risk of flooding because the soil loses some of its absorptive capacity. You can 100% have both at once. I had to deal with both last year.

Unfortunately, I think the same is true for the other side of the metaphor here too...

"The sprawling message board of mostly young males armed with a vast arsenal of shallow knowledge and free time." I'm not saying this is an inaccurate way to describe Reddit, but also, having to describe Reddit in a book makes you sound a million years old. I have to assume this is here due to an editor's note, because Jason Pargin is not a million years old (he just plays being a million years old on the internet).
