So far this book has so much in it! The glimpses of what life was like in Spain’s Golden Age, the sexism and ruthless prejudices that women endured during this era, the almighty power that Christianity and Catholicism portrayed, how magic is portrayed as a gift from God, and the life of a Jew amongst this Christianization. Excited to read more!

For starters, we love Leigh Bardugo in this house! Naturally, I love the writing so far and the descriptions of emotions, things, people, etc. are amazing. There is an eeriness to this and only whispers of magic so far. The overall premise seems very different for her so I’m excited to keep reading!
