I genuinely think you already need a good understanding of the Italian Renaissance to follow this book. It’s non-linear and it introduces so many people from the era while barely explaining the context. I’m doing fine but I believe this would be immensely confusing to other people.

I’m extremely knowledgeable about the Italian Renaissance so this book is easy to follow for me, but I’m wondering if someone new to the topic would feel the same.
