Not even through the first chapter, but I already feel the need to keep track of how many instances of superfluous restatements there are in this book. It seems like "a kind of *this*, a *that*" is something of a crutch for LaRocca. Hopefully this pattern breaks at some point and it's used more sparingly. Will keep a running total of how many times I see it.
