Ezra Adelman making me absolutely sob! oh god! 😭 i came into this book thinking it would be a love triangle, which yes it is, but i didn’t expect the amount of love that would be portrayed to be so much. they all love each other SO. MUCH. Ezra loves her SO SO MUCH. it’s like making my heart fall out of my chest.

the tears in my eyes reflect a long life of wishing to be cared for. Mal LOVES her.

to be loved! to be taken care of! to be worth trying again tomorrow for! to be wanted even when you’re in the worst place of your life.

wow. what a way to turn Jo & Ezra’s friendship into an absolute joke. i’ve loved the way their past has been presented through random exposition in the book, it builds their story backwards as the present unfolds. you’re telling multiple stories at the same time. this article by the post makes her a pawn, completely discredits a decades worth of relationship for the face of a brand. that’s disgusting.

i have to remind myself he deserves to be let down, Ezra deserves to be rejected because he waited too long. my heart hurts so bad for him regardless. she was meant to move on and she’s allowed to and be happy. everything in me is telling her to crawl back, accept with open arms, and that says more about me than anything else.

he’s soo cancelled for coming to her now and finally telling her but FAWK is it good 😭 it’s been clear since the beginning that he was JUST realizing he had feelings for her and it hasn’t been jokes… that he might’ve been down since jump. she had been trying to talk herself out of the idea that Ezra had feelings for her all that time… play it off as his idea of friendship but the italics don’t lie

why am i about to cry? it MEANS something when someone truly proves to you that you are DESIRABLE. Ezra is mr. perfect and it holds weight for someone who is so publicly liked to claim you. when you have been perceived as less/other it feels alien to have someone recognize your beauty and presence. it took Ezra way too long to see it & makes my heart full that Jo had that even when the love was unreciprocated.

THIS is the shit i’ve been waiting for! we’ve been waiting the length of this whole book for these two to have THIS conversation. it’s finally happening and i hope Jo beats his ass into submission

good god things took a turn for the absolute worse 😭😭 how did that happen so fast? they just had a really difficult conversation about love, she had to leave understandably, but WHAT DO YOU MEAN THE LINE WAS DISCONNECTED?!?? he was imagining her moving her stuff in and living domestically like what the fuckkk

; jesus 😭 at first i didn’t understand it, i had to read it a few times but now it makes sense now. letting loving someone take over your life or the effects of it bleeding into it are severe. there’s a lot of self reflection a person has to do to be able to be present in a relationship and cognizant of the influence they bring to it
