The final chapter offers some hope for a future that somewhat was captured. She outlines new experimental methods of pest control such as sterilization of the males, bacterial control and encourage fauna to take hold in a region.
Today, all of the chemicals outlined in her book have ban banned or restricted heavily. However we still used methods deplored by Carson 60 years ago.

Ticks seem especially bad this year. Google says warmer winters. Interestingly it also mentioned snakes are living the whole earth getting warmer thing

Fact checked the snakes thing. They get longer faster but remain skinny and that leads to many health issues

The rumblings of the avalanche.

As we have seen with bacteria resisting antibiotics things with condensed generational timelines have the ability to develop resistance quickly. As spraying leaves only the strong to replenish a population that now has less competition and an abundance of food it’s estimated that most insects will develop immunities within 2-6 years

Nature fights back

Kind of. Often when mass spraying is done it has some effect on the intended target however there are varying degrees of susceptibly to insecticides so many unintended targets can be hit. This has proven to be very harmful to the balance of nature as it removes competition and natural predators. This may cause the intended target or a previously immaterial pest to surge in population

Increasing rates of cancer may be correlated with the growing use of carcinogens via pesticides. It outlines one theory proposed by Otto Wahlberg, which suggests that when ADT reactions are disrupted but the cells remain alive they produce energy at a lower rate. This necessitates a larger number of cells to produce the same amount of energy causing cancerous growths.

Genetic mutations of ancestors may not fully reveal themselves until many years prior, as indicated by the book’s findings. In 1960, 12,000 leukemia deaths occurred worldwide with a population of 3 billion. By 2025, with an 8.2 billion population, the number of leukemia deaths increased to 300,000, a tenfold change in total leukemia deaths on a 2.5-fold increase in population growth.

A study on mosquitoes exposed them to DDT for several generations, resulting in mutated offspring that were neither fully male nor female. These offspring were renamed Gynadronemorphs.

In 1937, a German scientist working on mustard gas discovered its ability to alter the speed of cell division. This discovery led to its identification as the first known carcinogen. Over time, a comprehensive list of these chemicals has been compiled, encompassing the majority of the commonly used insecticides of that era.

The human price.

The Dept of ag encourages people to spray DDT on there cloths after laundering to prevent moths. All of these microdoses built up over time in people and the long term effects are unknown.

The borgias were a royal family who famously poisoned their rivals.
