Its hard because I've already watched the anime, but small bits like Lakan hiding a chicken wing under his robes was too good. Why wasnt it in the anime??? Oh and so much in the anime was better only because of continuity. Like the sauna being turned into a greenhouse and Xiolan's involvement. There's so little of her here.

Can't tell if I like the anime more for how expressive/funny the format allows for, or the novel's prose for the little insights. Though mostly the anime and light novels are beat for beat, so much so I am wanting more out of the novel. I know its not fair to have such expectations
