I expected a fascinating set ans a riveting mystery.... My God, how much I feel disappointed! The investigation is boring, the characters are flat and the protagonist, Flavia Albia, is presumptuous... overall a stupid and insipid plot. Maybe the other books in the series are better, but this was a terrible choice.😭😭😭😭

More than a mystery set in ancient Rome, it reads like the script for a humorous Hollywood tragedy-sitcom poking fun at the Romans. I WILL NEVER READ ANYTHING BY THIS AUTHOR AGAIN!

I desperately want o get to the end, but still I don't see why other readers find it a good mystery and an entertaining read... I FEEL BORED ! 😭😭😭😭😭😭 ... I'm tempted to abandon it.
