Trying to read through the "Oxen Of The Sun" episode quickly is like sprinting full speed into a brick wall. When I break it down to the sentence level I still have my struggles, but the wonder is back. I'll have to come back to this section at the end of the year when I have finished the book and re-pour over the words.

Onto Circe!

Kyle Taylor Also, to an extent this section feels like Joyce throwing every single idea he has of language as a concept down onto the page. He obviously is parodying through the history of English here, but it feels moreso like he is just saying, "I am a master of the written word on every level, trust what I am saying",

Though, Joyce wanted so badly to be studied that he may just be deconstructing the language as a way of seeming smart.

Strange dichotomy here between genius and pretension.

(I think it is probably genius, for what its worth.)
