this is like watered down “the brief & frightening reign of phil” + “charlie & the chocolate factory” + “the selection” lol. a mess. unnecessary details, scenes that go on wayyy too long w/ needless, clunky dialogue. the italicized bits at the beginnings of some chapters is goofy enough to be kinda charming when you imagine tyra herself at a read-aloud interrupting her narration. but uh borderline racist?
