Oh isn't there, mother, dear mother
Some God to save all this from futility,

De Campos' Maritime Ode was a trip for sure. Enjoyed the descent into sea-faring euphoric madness.

I'd love to fall from where I am now
Through a trapdoor - clack! - into my grave!
Life tastes to me like mild tobacco.
I never did more than smoke life away.

Too bad for you and for all who spend life
Trying to invent the machine for producing happiness!
