Still very impressed with Pamela's faith in the Lord and trusting His providence. Based on a real life incident.

After my last entry I decided I would read up on this book from Goodreads descriptions and reviews. Soooo different then the library's description. (LIBRARY'S- Based on actual events, Pamela is the story of a young girl who goes to work in a private residence and finds herself pursued by her employer's son. Pamela's struggles to decide how to respond to her would-be seducer and to determine her place in society.")

Susanna This is a VERY good book. I'm not sure how it got such awful reviews. I'm seeing a recounting of true events, based on the library's summary of this book, and it's pretty much a story of humility and redemption. Trusting in the providence of God.

Susanna LIBRARY SUMMARY- Based on actual events, Pamela is the story of a young girl who goes to work in a private residence and finds herself pursued by her employer's son, described as a 'gentleman of free principles.' Unfolding through letters, the novel depicts with much feeling Pamela's struggles to decide how to respond to her would-be seducer and to determine her place in society. First published 1740.
(When I found this book on Goodreads to click currently reading and saw the description, I wasn't sure I would be able to read it- HOWEVER)
The book cover I received from the library also said-
Based on the original text of 1740, this edition makes available the version of Pamela that aroused such widespread controversy on its first appearance.
( I am NOT seeing any pornography in disguise, nor rapes, that are spoken of in some reviews) I hope I do not come across either.
