Confused because it feels like the big climax has already happened, but we have 70 pages left??? The end is slowing down

What a bunch of turns I never saw coming. I keep flip flopping, do I love or hate accused serial killer Mankato Kajii? There are some things I’m like yeah, no that’s right and society is wrong, but then some parts of her are just such a big NO.

This book gives me similar vibes as the Netflix show Inventing Anna, it’s just way more intense and thought provoking

“…by living her life the way she had she’d been hurting her mother Mizushima, Reiko, Makoto, just like her father had once done her? By treating himself badly, he had accused the people around him.”

This book does a great job of convincing you something is right and true, only to then offer an opposing viewpoint or another perspective to consider. Every time I read I flip flop between liking and disliking Kajii as a person. There was a moment where I was like “no way she killed those dudes” and then another moment where I could not be convinced otherwise.
