I think my problem here is that I care about the romance more than the detective plot. But the detective plot and case solving takes up the spotlight… in the previous book I was super invested in the cases, here I’m just so damn tired of the fucking skull mask, can we PLEASE move on to something else? We have spent HALF THE NOVEL on this shit! 😭

Finally the feelings have been addressed and are out in the open. And honestly, I might like this couple better than Jiang Ting and Yan Xie of the previous book. They are just a better fit. And Yan Xie works better as a comical relief, not as a love interest lol.

How to reject a hot guy (as a hot guy yourself):
a) tell him you are not gay
b) tell him you are not interested
c) tell him you already are in a relationship
d) tell him his parents died for a stupid reason and that he is stupid for thinking he can avenge them and that he and his dead parents are dumb and this all sucks. All this in front of his parents' grave.

(the correct answer is, obviously, option d)

So Wu Yu clearly has PTSD and Bu Chonghua apparently has some major fucking anger management issues. This will be interesting!
