I finished reading The Sign of Four. It followed the style of the first book, the mystery and hunt followed by a long chapter of the guilty party telling their story. This story focused on preconceived ideas about natives in other lands. “The savage blacks.” The guilty party in this novel also followed a moral code which could not be argued against in a manner, but also slightly off kilter.

I finished A Study in Scarlet. It is fascinating in that the ultimate solution to the crime is in Salt Lake City. And such an interesting take on the life of pioneers.
Otherwise this is the story of how Sherlock Holmes and John Watson first meet. It’s a fun story. I an only imagine how exhausting it must have been to write a character so very annoying. Hah!
