This book provides some insight into the Caste System in India. This takes place in 1975, the same year that I graduated from High School. This was the start of the breakdown of the Caste System.
There are a number of protagonists and main characters. The story is told through many eyes and from the point of view of the lower Caste System. Brutality for those venturing outside the Caste System is unforgiving.
