I love the writing. She has a great ear for a musical sentence. But I find the outdoors parts bland. I have to keep reminding myself that most writers who write about wildness have not lived outdoors.

And I deeply wish that people who wrote from the perspective of children would realize that children are curious yet deeply self centered (necessarily so) and therefore it feels so unrealistic to use them as props to help the main character
