I thought Jory always had a laptop? There was always the scene in Sam's apartment when he was working on spreadsheets? When Jen came in and he thought it was Sam with a woman?

Yes, that's true, but it wasn't 1999 in the first book. She changed the timeline, which is fine, but no laptops. She threw in other tidbits like the Nokia, to make it more like 99, but forgot that one. Just a small thing overall, but I noticed.
Oh, ok, I see what you are saying. I was thinking old book/new book. I did Google it and it seems they made them, they were bricks and very expensive. Knowing Dane, it is definitely a possibility!! He was so controlling, haha!
