The duchess and duke are the perfect refresher the book was needing at this point. The couple is mischievous, they play along, she adores Sancho (as any sane person will), and, as rich people will, they play mind games with people they consider of lesser worth for their own amusing and entertainment.
I'm at a high point right now where they seem to be getting into a conflict with an enemy tribe.

I could've done better today, 27 pages on a Saturday is fine, but it could be better. I have been distracted for the past few days by useless distractions. But oh well that's just the way it is. I feel like I have been with this book for enough time now. I am okay for it to start ending. I still love it, sinner that I am, and may God strike me down if that's not true (that's a Sancho reference for those unfamiliar)->

The Knight of the Green Cape is an amazing character and I instantly liked him. How was Cervantes about to do that so effortlessly? With only a few lines he establishes atmosphere, depth, and boom, you like the character. He's real, he's fully fleshed out, and you connect with him.
