Super interesting, novel commentary on revolution: chapter 3 examines the US as a fundamentally unrevolutionary society, and chapter 4 extends that analysis to US-LATAM relations by contrasting the Mexican and Cuban revolutions, with the former in good standing while the latter no.. compellingly argues for acceptance/cooperation with intl revolution and I appreciate all the historical survey. He lowkey likes Castro?

Fulbright opens chapter 1 and closes chapter 2 with quotes from Albert Camus lol so cute!!! I find this writing significantly more deferential than his 1989 "The Price of Empire," though. But I'm still interested in his analytic arguments here: thus far, he's covered well patriotic dissent, intellectual/university freedom, and crisis politics. Looking forward to future elaboration on the specific 'arrogance of power'
