Fulbright opens chapter 1 and closes chapter 2 with quotes from Albert Camus lol so cute!!! I find this writing significantly more deferential than his 1989 "The Price of Empire," though. But I'm still interested in his analytic arguments here: thus far, he's covered well patriotic dissent, intellectual/university freedom, and crisis politics. It amazes me that people in power like Senators turns disciples of ethics and morality while remaining part of power group.

American politicians are no different than any other country in this regard.

This book is no different than any other in regard to behavioral analysis of a powerful society. Such matters are already public knowledge.
