A strange book. While it certainly has some very nice and interesting ideas it feels somehow unfinished. As if it was only a draft, an outline for the beginning of a much larger story.

This book is strange. It's the first in a series with two connecting prequel novellas that I've both read, and yet it feels at every turn as if I'm missing a huge portion of knowledge about this character and it's world. And the editing is plain gruesome. Heel, I'm no expert on English grammar, it's not even my native language, but even I recognise those mistakes. Missing words, wrong words, screwed-up sentences...

"So I stepped between the two of them. 'Wait. Don't shoot again. If you want to talk, we can talk here.'" - Riiiiight... because it's so very sensible to step right between a woman with a gun and murderous intentions towards you and the only person capable of taking down said woman. Not! Is there a law somewhere that decrees the protagonists of urban fantasy series to behave like complete morons in the first book?
