I appreciate the uniqueness of the narrator’s voice and accent and I want to see where this story goes, but I think the “sadness” (lack of humor) of the tone of her voice combined with most of the story feeling like it’s told in past tense so far makes me less likely to continue this audio book. I’ve got more time for listening than reading these days, so… maybe some day I’ll come back.

Started reading this on the plane, maybe ten percent of the way in. Restarted from the beginning as an audiobook today while on a walk. It’s so interesting which lines stand out more depending on the medium—whether written or spoken, and how it’s spoken.
