The pitch of that book does NOT give the necessary amount of TW about the insane level of body horror, oh my. I can handle a lot of body horror descriptions (as long as it not porn torture of women, expressing the author secret fantasies), yet that book is, definitely, a LOT. Again, it can be handled : it is less horrifying, more body goo grotesquerie, but I wish I had been informed beforehand. Consent, publishers !

Oh you better be turning that story around, Daniel, because the horrifying ableism and the forced pregnancy of a 11 year old to whom litteraly every character in the book refuses abortion, is abominable, especially the way you are writing it. And your protagonist is supposed to be clever : where is her cleverness going, all of a sudden ?
Very afraid of where this book seems to be going with that pregnancy plot.

You know what ? I can accept children turned into super-geniuses by tech of unknown origin, I can accept starships made of flesh and tumors, I can accept a planet with oceans of writhing metal.
But I put the limit of my suspension of disbelief at americans from Mississipi creating a marxist non violent society.

BS on so many levels. But every other SF fiction pretends that being obsessed with the 20th century is the 25th c favorite hobby.
If this was true, people today would be cosplaying Rachel, Rousseau, Talma or Kempe all the time. Do you know who they are?

I don't know how typical it is of this writer, but the black humour is cracking me up. The epiderm starship had me giggling to no end, but the scream (the revelation about what is, actually, screamed) that powers long-distance space-travel, nearly choked me to death. That was... soooo unexpected.
