I don’t object to not feeling beholden. I would have had convo before regardless if you like them or not. Fire saftey was wonderful method. The ending is great. although rushed.

4 stars. Mainly I think the writing was good. There was plot. There was drama and resolution. Minus for exceptionality, binary d/s, or needing to be the only good guy just made me roll my eyes.

the cover was cute. I think this was very readable. personality is always good. even if I happen to hate you which is COLE. but I do think a lot of questioning needs to occur. I am all for hard backstories. But when everything you do is justified and good and everyone especially the people you’re using as comparison to you ( her dates/ his aunts fam) is subpar. It feels like too much fan service.

I think the heroine is likable. I just think her judgements about some of her suitors seemed disproportionate. I don’t remember specifics maybe it’s my bias. I like Rhiannon and I like her therapist questioning why she thinks Cole wouldn’t be interested in her.I am not keen on incorporating exposure with sexy time. Intentions aside.. It’s great that’s he’s okay with it but I would find it insistent and forceful.

I would still rank this as better than a 3 star. I don’t love it but it does it everything and it’s engaging and it’s more complete than the first book. I am not wooed by the guy who spends the whole time showing his exceptionality. Idk something about it all is less fantastic to me. Male version of not like others girls.

I kind of hate when characters try to guess how dominant/ submissive their partner could be and they’re automatically correct. It’s not just this book. I think there’s a lot more to figuring out beyond authority and rules. I hate how 80% of books talk about this. Like it’s so predictable. This not as critique of either dominance or submission. I think it’s a disservice for it to be so binary in characters.
