Overconnectivity of local brain regions and the long distance underconnectivity. Overconnectivity in local brsin regions to make up for the deficit of the underconnectivity of long distance regions. 🧠🧿

Interesting to see the differences in neuroanatomy with Temple's autistic brain and the controls neurotypical brain. In addition, the theory of there being "damage" in early brain development that may have caused the autistic profile, in Temple's words.

I was just having a conversation earlier, and the person wants to explore autism and the origins: if rooted in "trauma or damage" during utero.

Fascinating!

I got diagnosed recently. I got recommended Temple Grandin. So far, learning the history of how ASD as a recognised condition and how clinical understanding has evolved is fundamentally fascinating.
