Remember how I said I’d read these 5 chapters on Monday and now it’s Friday?😶

Don’t tell Press but I’m a day behind schedule (I read 5 chapters each every Saturday and Sunday and I didn’t have time to read the 5 chapters yesterday but I will catch up tomorrow)

Half my annotations in the last few chapters contain the phrase "fuck you Fredrik" in some way

5 chapters in and I’m already almost certain it’s gonna be 5 stars.

I’m one of those people who barely ever cry and I’ve cried more than once over this book (not like sobbing but still) so. 1-10 at least a 9, maybe 10 depending on the ending. Will also make you extremely angry, especially if you know anything about cases like the Canada 5.
Ok I’ll have to check it out but I haven’t heard of the Canada 5 before so I’ll have to do some research… is it about hockey? For some reason I thought this was set in like some European country like Sweden… Idk
Beartown is set in Sweden, yes. The Canada 5 trial is a real life case regarding a similar subject matter as Beartown and in both cases the perpetrator(s) were defended because of their hockey skills (Carter Hart, one of the five, plays in the NHL rn and all others are also still playing professionally). I highly recommend watching Code of Misconduct if you want to know more about the case.
(Purposely not naming the crime because it’s not named in Beartown‘s blurb and therefore might be considered a spoiler)
