It’s a pretty good book but I thought it was going to be more of what was presented in Frontline. He is an essayist, think Garrison Keillor but a trifle sententious. The article was about how his townspeople handled death and grief. He has a unique vantage point as the small rural town’s mortician. If I wanted to read essays or poems, there are others I would seek out first.
