Sidenote, I really wish he had less of a sense of honor, like seriously. You're gonna let yourself be put to death for Reversing A War Crime? When you could live peacefully with your dragon in both France or China?
Overall very good. Probably my favorite so far, barring the first one. The pace was nice and quick and I'm finally used to the style

Sending ill dragons back to France in the hopes of getting them sick while hiding the cure????? Horrific. No wonder that abolitionist dude hates Nelson so much
Sidenote, I was pretty sure this was the book that Laurence did the treason in, but I wasn't sure how he was gonna get there. Now, I think I might know

Also, hilarious how much Harcourt had to be convinced into marrying Riley. I don't feel too bad for him tho. Bitch is still weird about abolition and also women captains. Maybe she'll knock some sense into him

Man that's some cool worldbuilding of the various central/southern African dragons. I'm glad Mrs. Erasmus stayed behind tho, she and her family deserved to be as safe as possible

These books definitely do take me longer to read but I kinda like that. Makes me think about every word

Loving that Temeraire is all for Laurence being the new face of the abolitionist movement while Laurence is silently dying in the background. Temeraire just wants his captain to get the recognition he deserves while Laurence is Begging to not be put in the limelight

Ive been wanting some cool dragons lately and this is the perfect balm. I kinda forgot the writing style but it wasn't too hard to get back into. Still love Laurence and Temeraire and I'm very excited to see more of Izkierka
