Hall gets an unexpected breakthrough, which causes a race against time when the lab gets into lockdown.

This is an action-packed finale with enough suspense to fill the void. Let’s hope the epilogue ties up any loose ends.

Machek gets news at the reconstruction site, some details are revealed about the strain’s weak points and Levett goes back to the rat that he mistakenly threw out.

Ok, so now we are getting somewhere with this science-fiction drama. It’s got some intriguing set ups and narratively clear errors that it’s an engaging read no matter where you dissect it.

It’s now Day 4 of the Andromeda Strain timeline, as a dead-end causes Atone to think outside the box, while Hall learns the events that led up to the outbreak in Piedmont.

Well, it seems we have a bit of a flashback, which reveals a bit of truth behind the deaths of the Piedmont residents, and we have a very clear development in the thinking of the scientists on the force

Finished Day 3, where the scientists need to have a sleep schedules, yet work waits for no men, as a directive order causes them to call the higher ups.

Ok, so we have some tension building here, as the we now have the named “Andromeda Strain” and the directive of 7-11 is about to commence.

The scientists get some work done after their noon conference.

Ok, so we are slowly getting there as they are making advancements towards finding a cure for the Andromeda strain. Some of them have inner thoughts while others are shocked at how time flies faster.

At noon, the scientists get together to discuss their findings, meanwhile Major Mulchek flogs to discover a peculiar sight.

Ok, so we have some advancements on the Andromeda Strain studies. But what is strange is that an aircraft suddenly disintegrated in midair. I’m not sure how it would fit into the larger narrative, but I’m guessing that the strain has jumped species somehow.

Burton does some autopsies while Hall has a conversation with an old patient. Plus a few mistakes have been made for the first time.

Ok, so we have a chapter that displays a few of the mistakes that the crew have made. I’m pretty sure they will come to realise the errors once they find out about it before the end of the book.

Stone & Levitt takes a look at the capsule in Main Control and find an interesting advancement.

Well, it took about the halfway point, but I do believe that we have found an interesting development in the search for the cure. Will they be able to make the cure in time, one can only know.

At Level V, the group of men do some testing on animals in order to determine how dangerous the strain is, then Hall goes to the Miscellaneous room and check up on the old man & the baby.

It appears we are going to discover a surprising amount of knowledge about the strain and the interesting connection between both the baby & the old man & their aversion to the disease.
