An excellent book that manages to cover 160 years of Oil in just over 140 pages. I think Hickson carries a significant writing in her work. She deals with many topics of humanity’s need to progress constantly and obsessively, but she does it in a poetic sense that feels more like a slap to the face than a history lesson of facts
