With the box of chocolates, there was a note dated 2004 which was before Ayame & Tsumugi were close.

What a tragedy.

Tsumugi visited the past to meet Ayame. Nagare gave her the alarm & Kei went to get Ayame.

Tsumugi saw that Ayame was clearly ill. They spoke in "Samurai" when the alarm rang. Then, Ayame gave Tsumugi a box of chocolates, indicating that she has feelings for her.

Ayame knew that Tsumugi came from the future, she knows she will die. At least she got to admit her feelings and see Tsumugi one last time.

At the reunion, Tsumugi found out that Ayame had cried at the first gathering over chatter that they were a thing.

Hayato told Tsumugi what had happened - Ayame fell sick and is dead. Prior to that, she actually reached out to Tsumugi but she assumed it was to talk about her rejecting Hayato.

Up until that story, Hirai (travelled to the past to meet her sister, Kumi, before she died), had been "scolding" her.

Tsumugi & Ayame hung out at the cafe after graduation, where they met Kei, who also conversed the same way they did for the fun of it.

Tsumugi had been jealous of Ayame for she was fonded by guys. When they both entered University, she avoided Ayame.

Now, she's at a reunion and found out Ayame cried when probed at the 1st reunion. Classmates thought they were a thing.

Tsumugi Ito is a castle geek. She's friends with the new student, Ayame Matsubara, who also is well knowledgeable on castles.

There's a tradition of giving chocolates or gift to the guy you like and if the feelings are mutual, he will return the favour a month later on White day.

Tsumugi admitted she likes Hayat in junior high school but he said he likes Ayame.

Tsumugi told Ayame but left out the truth of why.

Mochizuki returned to the cafe and travelled to the future to meet Yoko, and even Mitsuru (his grandchild).

Yoko had wanted to share about her unhappiness and situation but decided to just tell him that she will be happy.

Mochizuki returned to the "present", returned home to Kayoko and they had Omurice for dinner (Yoko's favourite dish)

Kayoko, mother of Yoko, had been in touch with her. However, the stories of being well was all a lie. Yoko's ex husband, Tetsuya, the one her dad didn't approve of is against children and became abusive.

She decided to divorce and worked tirelessly to keep afloat. Unfortunately, she met another man who scammed her.

When she thought of returning home, that's when she got the call that her father is dead.

Fumio Mochizuki, father of Yoko, had previously disapproved of her marrying someone. End up, she eloped, and hadn't been in contact with him since.

A few years after, he died & Yoko travelled from the future with the hopes of meeting her father. Fumiko was there and said her father was there and offered to chase after him but Yoko wanted to as well and stood up from the seat and returned to the future

The clocks have a meaning, all along we know that only the middle clock is correct. When Megumi went back, the middle clock paused and the one on the left (closest to the entrance) takes over.

Could the clocks signify which "present" you're in?

Left - Past
Middle - Present
Right - Future

Megumi went back in time with her unnamed daughter. Riuji, of course, figured it out. He also asked whether it would be okay if he's the one who drank the coffee - yes, it doesn't matter who finishes the coffee before it gets cold.

Riuji named their daughter Yu, gentle. He also drank the cup of coffee because he probably knew that Megumi would not be able to return knowing he's upset over the situation.
