I could maybe forgive this book if the sex was good but it's very much not worth the amount of energy it took to read it. If you're looking for monsterfucking you'll be sorely disappointed.

This book is 500+ pages btw. I stupidly thought that because it's poly maybe it would put those pages to good use. Silly me.

Emily Rath, I'm begging you. Let your FMCs have more flaws! I love a badass woman. That's not my problem. My problem is you're putting way too much into a single character. I get that people are contradictory and multi-faceted. BUT IT STILL NEEDS TO MAKE SENSE.

For a book that was advertised as LGBT and poly, it's been pretty aggressively heterosexual and largely about one dynamic. Like no wonder it's “unrequited instalove” - the wraith isn't around so of course he's the one pining! Sucks to have him sidelined even if plot-wise it makes sense. Definitely understand the people who don't like the wraith (he's very cringe) but for me he's a big reason I haven't DNFed yet.
