One of my biggest pet peeves in writing is the misuse of exclamation points which Dan Brown has done quite a few times specifically this sentence kind of annoys me
“In frustration he blurted, ‘I’ve never read any thing about a sixth illuminati brand!’ ”

Fighting in a turtleneck and dress pants is hilarious

“Images of Vittoria and the Hassassin started to swirl hauntingly as Langdon clambered his way around the fountain”

That wording really bothers me because it’s written so casually and almost like Vittoria is willingly hanging out with this man and not like something incredibly traumatic is about to happen to her against her will

I am actually so enraged that this man does not know what it means to be a woman in a dangerous situation and he still wrote from this woman’s perspective, this woman who is a genius, and he wrote her first thought when waking up unconscious with her hands tied behind her back in an unknown place as “Oh I think I recognise the scenery” as if she would not be figuring out how to get out of this situation

As an author you are capable of writing the kidnapping of a woman and writing in the point of view of the Man who is planning on raping her but you are unable to write the sentence sentence “the hassassin got hard” instead you had to make it sound “intelligent” by writing “the hassassin, even cold and wet, felt himself stiffen.”

Yea I really dislike this reporter like I promise this woman is not jealous of you

“He felt an unexpected emptiness inside. Langdon had often heard that intense situations could unite two people in ways that decades together often did not. He now believed it. In Vittoria’s absence he felt something he had not felt in years. Loneliness.”

Yeah, no, I actually hate this

“All of these things had evaporated from his mind. The war was lost. A new compulsion had ignited within him. It was simple. Stark. Primal. Find Vittoria.”

Ewwww I’m so fed up truly because now this is just going to be an ego boost for the man and him getting to let his “primal“ side out and save a woman

And I’m also mad because I’ve been trying to pinpoint why I’m feeling so incredibly upset about Vittoria in this book and I think the reason is because she is the only female character character in this book and and this turn of events of her being kidnapped really angers me because I know that this is now gonna turn into Robert getting to save her from trauma
