Do, at about the 90% mark I searched for the critical response to this book given the amount of yada yada ing. This is when I realised I had missed book 12 🤣

Kind of crazy that I could have missed an entire book and only noticed occasional inconsistencies and apparently skipped plot lines.

Will read it when I’m finished with the rest 🤣

Lanfear appearing in Rand’a dreams is a trick, I assume, given we’ve seen her reincarnated and hanging around with Moridin.

The Verin letter was pretty stupid. Why not just say if I’m not back in a day open this? Or just tell Mat the whole story before setting off.

Overall the epilogue was a bit underwhelming.

So Semirhage is dead? Last time we saw her she’d been captured.

Slayer’s dreamspike is destroyed and suddenly you cannot create gateways to or from the Black Tower? Suspicious.

Seems like whatever is happening there is bad news.

The Aiel breaking the Dragon’s piece just because they have such a huge hard on for war is stupid and out of character 🤷‍♂️

Dain Bornhald’s arc has been very satisfying.

Perrin’s POV refers to the world of dreams as tel'aran'rhiod even though I don’t think he’s ever heard that word before? It’s always been the wolf dream 🤔

Gawyn 3-on-1-ing these Seanchan super assassins is very silly.

More generally a lot of Sanderson’s writing here feels like this (e.g. Perrin and the Whitecloaks) - things happen just because. There has been a small, but notable, dip in quality.

And the yada yada of previous major plotlines is ridiculous.

So Perrin is going to take a dome that he knows affects channeling and plant it in the White Tower to fight Slayer in the world of dreams at the same time that the Aes Sidai are under attack from the Forsaken?
