Over 33 years of war in Afghanistan and the plight of women. Emotion, love and sacrifice...this book has it all. Mariam is holding my interest as she is married to Rasheed at 15 yrs old. Rasheed's other wife is Laila. Mariam and Laila have a bond even with all the abuse they suffer from Rasheed.
