It's a cute book. It's a really cute book. There are some similarities to Howl's moving Castle but not so much as to be wholly distracting. They're more like a shared cultural story. A touchstone adding familiarity to a story that already feels like a warm cup of cocoa and, if you'll forgive the pointedness, a cat curled up on your lap.

So far, it's a pretty good read. The world building is small but immediate. The title says there's going to be a mystical cat shelter, but right now there is just a cat shelter with some tendrils of mystic energy in the neighborhood. It's a good reminder that the fantastical elements of your story don't have to hit your readers in the face.
